Inscriptions for the fourteenth edition of the Combat Prize, the international contest finalised to the continuous research of the different paths and talents characterising contemporary art, are open. Recognised among the most important awards of the contemporary art system in Italy, it will be held again this year in a new format.
The Giovanni Fattori Museum in Livorno - Granaries of Villa Mimbelli, the main venue, will host the final exhibition of the eighty finalists, which will be held from 17 June to 8 July 2023.
The absolute first prize worth ten thousand euros, which will be awarded by the jury to one artist among the eighty finalists, is confirmed, in addition to the cash prizes for each individual section and the Gallery Special Prize where six galleries and an independent space, leaders in the contemporary art system will each select, independent of the prize jury, an artist from the finalists to start a new collaboration which will take the form of a solo or group exhibition, or a site-specific project, in their own spaces in the 2023/24 season.
The Poliart Award has also been consolidated, with the company leader in the processing of expanded polystyrene, to support the production of a work by an artist selected from the finalists, thus strengthening the fruitful dialogue between art, business, and the territory, which is fundamental for the development and knowledge of contemporary artists.
